Our Training Partnership with Learn Trade Skills

Wire Now Team··3 min read

Wire Now is proud to partner with Learn Trade Skills, one of the UK's leading electrical training providers. Based at our shared facility in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, this partnership bridges the gap between classroom qualification and real-world commercial electrical work.

Who Are Learn Trade Skills?

Learn Trade Skills is a City & Guilds and EAL accredited training centre based in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. They have trained over 1,000 students across 32 courses ranging from beginner to advanced, and hold a 4.9 out of 5 student rating. Their courses cover everything from 18th Edition Wiring Regulations through to specialist qualifications in solar PV and EV charging.

How Does the Partnership Work?

Wire Now and Learn Trade Skills operate from the same Cheshunt facility, creating a unique training-to-employment pipeline. Students enrolled on LTS courses gain access to real commercial project environments during their training, not just classroom theory. This means they see first-hand how electrical installations are designed, delivered and commissioned on live sites.

The Gold Card Electrical Course is the flagship programme — a comprehensive package that takes students from initial qualification through to industry readiness. Gold Card graduates receive priority consideration for Wire Now employment opportunities, giving them a direct route into commercial electrical contracting.

What Projects Do Graduates Work On?

Wire Now delivers a range of commercial and industrial electrical projects across London, Hertfordshire and Essex. Graduates who join the team gain hands-on experience across our core service areas:

  • Solar PV installations — Commercial rooftop and ground-mount systems for warehouses, offices and public buildings. LTS students can prepare for this with their Solar PV Training course.
  • EV charging infrastructure — Workplace and fleet charging installations for commercial clients. The EV Charging Training course at LTS covers the specific competencies required.
  • Commercial electrical installations — New builds, fit-outs and refurbishments for offices, retail and industrial units.
  • Fire alarm systems — Design, installation and commissioning of BS 5839-compliant fire detection and alarm systems.
  • Emergency lighting — BS 5266-compliant emergency lighting installations and ongoing testing.

Why Does Wire Now Invest in Training?

The UK electrical industry faces a well-documented skills shortage. By partnering directly with Learn Trade Skills, Wire Now helps address this by ensuring newly qualified electricians are genuinely work-ready from day one. Our directly employed engineers mentor graduates on live projects, building the practical competence that only comes from real site experience.

This partnership also means Wire Now can maintain its quality standards. Every electrician who joins through the LTS pipeline has been trained to a standard we trust, in a facility we know, by instructors we work alongside.
